Macaroni Salad Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and rinse with cold water. For dressing, in a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, pickle relish, sugar substitute, mustard, salt and pepper. Stir in macaroni, celery, green pepper and onion. Ingredients of Macaroni Salad

  1. You need 4 cups of uncooked macaroni.
  2. It's 6 stalks of celery.
  3. Prepare 1 of onion.
  4. Prepare 14 oz of frozen peas.
  5. It's 1 of green bell pepper.
  6. You need 6 of boiled eggs.
  7. Prepare 5 handfuls of matchstick carrots.
  8. It's of dressing.
  9. You need 1 cup of mayonnaise.
  10. It's 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard.
  11. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp of salt.
  12. You need 1/2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
  13. Prepare 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper Plus to taste.

Serve chilled or at room temperature. Made with cooked macaroni pasta, red bell peppers (or capsicum), shredded carrot, red onions, dill pickles, crisp celery and chives tossed in the ULTIMATE dressing made with mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar to balance out the acidity. This overall is a great macaroni salad. It tasted just like mine that way, but with different ingredients.

Macaroni Salad step by step

  1. Boil water then add pasta and cook until tender, about 10 minutes.
  2. Rinse pasta with cold water.
  3. Put in a large bowl or if you have kid helpers a big stockpot for easier stirring.
  4. Dice your celery, onions and add to macaroni.
  5. Deseed bell pepper and dice then add to macaroni.
  6. Dice boiled eggs, add to macaroni.
  7. Add peas still frozen to macaroni.
  8. Stir gently.
  9. Add carrots, i did just enough to color accent.
  10. Gently stir.
  11. In a small bowl, add dressing ingredients and mix well.
  12. Fold into macaroni mixture.
  13. Chill 4 hours and serve.

I was hesitant about posting this recipe - it's the macaroni salad I grew up with, and pretty basic. The best + easiest old-fashioned macaroni salad to bring to all the BBQs/potlucks! Everyone will be dying for the recipe! We all need a good classic macaroni salad in our back pocket. One that we can always bring to backyard BBQs and potlucks.
